Where is The Marcia P. Hoffman Performing Arts Institute located?
The Institute is located in the Administrative building of Ruth Eckerd Hall, Richard B Baumgardner Center, at 1111 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater, Florida.


Where do I park?
Convenient on-site parking is available. It is recommended that participants of the Institute park in lot B, which is located on the left after the Challener/Morrow Production Studios building.

Is there a charge for parking cost?
There is no charge for parking while attending Education programs. This includes classes, workshops, seminars, Family Theater Series, and Evening at the Murray performances.

What is the Institute's Office hours?
Office Hours are Monday – Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

 

 

 

CLASSES AT THE INSTITUTE

What's the best way to buy tickets to my child’s performance?
 Tickets to our Education Class performances are sold through the Ruth Eckerd Hall Ticket Office.

Can I bring a guest to an Education class?
 During the Fall & Spring Semesters, Exploratory and Preparatory students must notify their teacher before bringing a guest to class.

Will enrollment in classes get me discounted tickets for Main Stage performances?
No.  However, Preparatory division students receive a Prep Guild Card, which allows the student to purchase select Main Stage performances at a discounted rate.

What are Prep Guild cards?
Students enrolled in the Preparatory Division at The Institute receive a membership card which allows them to purchase selected Main Stage performances at a discounted rate.

What do I do if I lose my Prep Guild Card, or if it gets stolen?
A $5.00 fee will be charged for replacement cards.  Contact the Education Registrar at 727-712-2706 to report lost or stolen cards.

When attending a class, is there a dress code that needs to be followed?
Modest dress is always best!  Moveable and flexible attire and tennis shoes are recommended for all classes.  Certain classes may require specific attire which will be communicated upon enrollment or found in the brochure.

When can I enroll in classes?
 Class enrollment periods occur three times a year: Summer – March; Fall – August, and Winter/Spring – January.

Can I get a refund for a class once I have enrolled?
Refunds are only available if a class is cancelled.  The $15.00 registration fee is non-refundable.  Institute policies and procedures can be found on the Institute Policies page.

 

INSTITUTE PERFORMANCES

What's the age restriction for children attending a SchoolTime performance or a Family Theater Series performance?
SchoolTime performances are offered for ages 4 through 18.  Family Theater Series performances are offered for all ages.

What children's programming do you have?
Our Education Department offers a Family Theater Series, SchoolTime performances, Classes in Music and Drama, instrumental and vocal Private Lessons.

 

How can I get information on subscriptions?

What's the best way to buy tickets to my child’s performance?

GENERAL

What is Eckerd Theater Company?
a company of professional artists, educators and administrators under the umbrella of The Marcia P. Hoffman Performing Arts Institute at Ruth Eckerd Hall.

How can I audition for the Eckerd Theater Company?

Auditions are held at Ruth Eckerd Hall on an as-needed basis. Resumes are kept on file throughout the year in case cast replacements are needed, or to contact actors for the following season.

FACILITIES

When do the theater lobbies open before a show?
Lobbies open 30 minutes before all Institute performances.

How can I get seating charts for the theaters?
Seating charts are available on the Ruth Eckerd Hall website at RuthEckerdHall.com under the Tickets and Events section.

Is the Institute accessible to persons with disabilities?
Yes. All classrooms and theaters at the Institute and Ruth Eckerd Hall are accessible for those with disabilities.
 
How many performance spaces do you have and what are the seating capacities?
There are two performance halls located at Ruth Eckerd Hall.  Our main auditorium, Ruth Eckerd Hall, holds approximately 2100 seats.  The Murray Studio Theater holds 186 seats.
